Join Art with Impact and GLSEN for an arts-based mental health workshop honoring Mental Wellness Awareness Month. Explore mental health in marginalized communities through impactful short films and discussions with filmmakers and experts.
This event features:
- The opportunity to learn more and get involved with Art with Impact and GLSEN!
- Powerful Short Films: "Mind Matters" sheds light on the silent struggle of depression, particularly within the Black male community. "Staging Face" follows several captivating artists as they navigate the complexities of gender identity, community, and mental health.
- Filmmaker Insights: Hear directly from the creators of these impactful films.
- Expert Perspectives: Kyle Woodson (he/him), MA, LPC of Eating Recovery Center facilitates the event, with insights from Leah Kartun (she/her), Associate Director at GLSEN.
- Open Dialogue: Students are invited to share and reflect on their own mental health journeys and reflections on the films.
